Field Marketing Associate
The person who makes our events run, so the rest of us can focus on developers.
- Location
- SF Bay Area. Hybrid, travel within region.
- Type
- Contractor (1099)
- Time
- 10-20 hours/week, spikes around event weeks
- Compensation
- $300-$500/day on event days. $40-$60/hr for prep work. Negotiable on experience.
- Reports to
- Dan Goosewin, Founder
Goosewin runs tens of field marketing events per month for clients like Mastra, MiniMax, and Ito: happy hours, dinners, hackathons, conference activations. Each one has a thousand small details that decide whether developers leave impressed or annoyed.
This role owns the operational layer of those events. You're the person who shows up early, leaves late, and notices when the AV is wrong before the guests do. If you like producing real-world experiences and you're allergic to chaos, we want to talk.
What you'll do
- Handle pre-event logistics: venue confirms, food orders, AV checks, signage, swag, attendee list management on Luma
- Be on-site for setup, run-of-show, and tear-down at every Goosewin event in your region
- Manage day-of operations: greet guests, run name badges, coordinate with venue staff, troubleshoot in real time
- Carry, lift, set up, and break down event materials (chairs, tables, signage, swag, AV gear). Yes, this is real.
- Capture event metadata for post-event reports: attendance, photo coverage, vendor notes
- Coordinate with vendors (caterers, photographers, venues) and own the receipts and expense flow into Mercury
- Other unique needs depending on the client's needs
What we look for
- 1-3 years running events, hospitality, or field operations. Bonus if it's tech-adjacent
- Calm under pressure. Things will go wrong on the day; we need someone who solves rather than panics
- Strong written communication. You'll be on Slack and email all day with venues, vendors, and clients
- Comfortable with ambiguity and high autonomy. We don't have time to micromanage
- Physically able to lift 30 lbs and stand for long periods at events
Nice to have
- Existing relationships with SF Bay Area venues
- Experience with Luma, Notion, Linear, or similar tools
- Background in tech, or has met a developer before
Why Goosewin
- Get inside one of the most interesting markets in tech right now (AI-native dev tooling)
- Real ownership. You run the event, you don't take orders from five layers of marketing
- Steady, recurring work with clients we've already won
- Path to expanding scope as Goosewin grows: lead producer, regional lead, full-time hire
